We have a dedicated team of experienced professional negligence lawyers specialising in defendant work. The team act in claims throughout England and Wales against solicitors, barristers, surveyors, accountants, educational institutions and other professionals on behalf of a number of professional indemnity insurers. The team’s objective is always to work together with both insurers and the insured to resolve litigation and disputes as fairly, economically and sensitively as possible taking into account the clients’ views.

Our processes are supported by our flexible case management system, TeamFlo, which is capable of being adapted to suit each of our clients' specific requirements. The system is developed and maintained by our highly-skilled legal innovation team who work side-by-side with our lawyers to deliver first-class case management.

Our approach to claims

Getting from A to B in the fastest possible way often requires the earliest possible offer by making immediate contact to negotiate settlement with the claimant's lawyer. Sometimes the claim should not be paid or validated due to potential fraud and the only way to end it is to proceed quickly to trial and get the judge to do so. Sometimes it is somewhere in between and further information is needed before you can make a decision. Whatever the situation we move quickly to put you in the best possible position, and to avoid the claimant incurring unnecessary costs because of wasted time.

We have encountered every claimant tactic under the sun. Knowing what might be sprung on us does not make us complacent. In fact, it means we are extra vigilant, always conscious of the pitfalls and making sure that we are in control of the claim.

Every one of our lawyers is required to undertake skills training in how to conduct negotiations. It is a skill that we take very seriously and our lawyers put it to the best use for our clients.
