Sarbjit qualified in September 2005 and undertook a role with a firm of Business Defence Solicitors acquiring experience in serious and complex fraud and other white collar crime litigation. Work undertaken included the defence of prosecutions brought by bodies such as the CPS, Serious Fraud Office, HM Revenue and Customs and The Department for Business, Enterprise & Regulatory Reform.
He joined Morgan Cole in August 2007 and his workload includes dealing with Police investigations and interviews under caution, undertaking his own advocacy before coroners inquests and Magistrates Court hearings and representing clients in Crown Court proceedings in relation to a variety of criminal and regulatory offences.
Sarbjit has a significant working knowledge of road traffic law and part of his workload involves the representation of defendants in cases brought under Road Traffic legislation for offences ranging from speeding to causing death by dangerous driving. He also has experience of prosecuting cases for the Nursing and Midwifery Council in relation to allegations of misconduct and/or incompetence made against its registrants. Work includes gathering evidence, preparing charges that can be put forward and undertaking his own advocacy before the Council's Conduct and Competence Committee.
