Having completed her training contract at Morgan Cole, Catrin qualified and specialised on qualification in Professional Negligence. Since qualification Catrin has acted on behalf of various NHS Trusts in personal injury claims brought against the Trusts, and dealt with professional conduct, regulatory work and clinical negligence cases relating to solicitors, nurses and doctors. Her main case load relates to defending solicitors in professional negligence cases.

She was awarded Welsh Trainee of the Year at the 2004 Western Mail Law Awards having been nominated for the award by the partners at Morgan Cole.

Catrin has earlier this year returned from secondment at a leading insurance company where she acted as a claims solicitor in respect of solicitors negligence work.
