Question: Why do organisations write policies?

Answer: to ensure compliance and to promote regulation and security.

However, how do you publicise your policies to your staff? Policies can be posted on your intranet, or sent by email, printed in the staff handbook or communicated as part of the training process but these methods are expensive to administer, difficult or impossible to track and leave open the risk that the policies will not be read and digested.

Without effective distribution and tracking, how can you be sure your staff have read, understood and agreed to your policies? How can you demonstrate policy compliance to auditors and regulators?
