Barola Property Holdings, the South Wales developer and commercial landlord, has completed South Wales’s largest industrial building acquisition of 2008.
Cardiff-based Barola has agreed the sale and leaseback of the 130,000 sq ft Dekor plc plant at Waterton Industrial Estate, Bridgend.
The deal paves the way for furniture accessories manufacturer Dekor to vacate the building in the next few months and downsize to a smaller unit nearby.
Richard Johns, Director of Barola, said, "The agreement is a great deal for both businesses. It secures Dekor a flexible lease while it completes its new building, while offering Barola a high quality property moving forward
"We will be actively marketing the building for single or multiple occupier use and expect very strong interest."
Barola was represented by Morgan Cole Solicitors, Cardiff, while Julian Hodge Commercial provided financial support.
Morgan Cole Commercial property partner Geoff Reed said, "Barola has made a significant impact on the commercial property market in a relatively short period of time. This acquisition again demonstrates the directors’ ability to offer innovative property solutions to existing occupiers and future tenants."
